Description
Barley is one of the oldest grains, according to some, even older than wheat. It therefore has a long history as well as a long tradition. It has Middle Eastern origins. It boasts important nutritional characteristics. It is in fact rich in beta-glucans, which help control blood cholesterol, vitamins, mineral salts. It is called naked because, during threshing, the seed husk is removed. It is excellent prepared in soup with tomato or prepared as a risotto.
